Book Study and Communion

Event Details

Our Bishop’s latest book, Gospel Memories, is a look at how the times of our lives help to mold us. Each time of sadness or success offers us a choice. Held alone, they might shape us to be bitter or fearful, or overly confident in ourselves. Offered to God, God, with us, can determine how they will shape us. Often, it’s only as we look back that we see God’s hand in our lives.
Bishop Owensby pairs each of his own stories of his life with a story from Scripture to show how, given to God, every time, good or bad, joyful or sad, can form us to be the people God made us to be. In the Bishop’s life we can find our lives and the great blessing of knowing that all times are in God’s hands.
We will read and discuss selected stories from Gospel Memories on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. , followed by Holy Communion.
If you would like to buy the book, you can order it from Amazon.  Each chapter stands alone, so don’t let having to miss one or two classes keep you from coming.
