In October 2004, Holy Cross Episcopal Church saw a need for a day shelter in the downtown neighborhood area of Shreveport. Initially, Holy Cross Hope House provided our friends with a place to enjoy coffee, take a shower, shave, brush their teeth, do their laundry, receive mail, access telephone service, enjoy a cold drink of water, and maybe a snack or meal when provided.

Today, we provide a number of services to our friends and neighbors. Holy Cross Hope House is the primary outreach ministry of Holy Cross Church. While down the street, it is overseen by the Rector of Holy Cross with assistance from his employees. Holy Cross Church is responsible for the majority of the budget, administration, and ministry of Holy Cross Hope House. We also receive and welcome private donations, with special thanks to the Wheless Foundation for their continued and generous support of this ministry.

Hope House is situated just down the street from the church on Austen Place. Donna Earnest is the Assistant to the Rector for Hope House Management. For more information on the services Hope House offers, see the drop-down tab. For more on how you can help or if you know someone in need of our services, please contact Donna at Hope House either through the Facebook page or by giving them a call at ( 318)220-7650.

We are always eager to have volunteers help us with our ministry at Hope House! And we thank those individuals, groups, non-profits, churches, and others who volunteer with us to serve our friends.
