  • Laurie Connell, Office Administrator

Laurie's web photoPhone: 318.222.3325            email:

Laurie Connell joined our staff in 2015. After graduating from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, she taught elementary school for 5 years before moving into Christian formation and education administration in the United Methodist Church for 10 years, with an emphasis on volunteer/leadership development within the congregation.

Working on and off as office assistant in various part time settings while her children were growing up, she last served as office administrator for 6 years for the Wesley Foundation at her alma mater before moving to Shreveport. During that time she received training in spiritual formation and direction from the United Methodist Church.

Laurie has been known to dabble in furniture and home restoration, guitar, ukulele, model trains, mosaics, carpentry, quilting, and philately.  And did someone say shopping?  She also enjoys music, from ancient chant to bagpipes to Broadway, antiquing, and being helpful, but her family is at the top of the list of interests, especially her grandchildren!  Son, Andrew, is married and lives in Lake Charles, and is youth director for a United Methodist Church there, while  daughter, Anna, is married and lives in Shreveport, and is a stay at home mom.
